Taking teams further: from take-off to kick-off
From championship-winning rally crews to a cargo hold full of sled dogs, we move the sporting world. Whatever the sport, wherever the fixture, and however tight the turnaround, our teams arrange the aircraft, the permits and the finer details that get athletes, equipment and everyone around them where they need to be – on time and ready to perform.
With offices across the globe, brokers on hand around the clock, and access to everything from single-engine turboprops to wide-bodied freighters, we are equipped to reach the furthest corners of the earth on the most demanding of schedules.
We regularly move entire squads and their kit, star players heading to transfers and contract signings, and the staff, sponsors, supporters, and family who travel alongside them. Below is a small selection of what we regularly make possible.
A specialist solution for a golf tournament
When a regular logistics client needed production staff, sponsors and equipment moved from Australia and the Middle East to a golf tournament in South-East Asia at short notice, we sourced an Airbus A330-300 with the right mix of cabin seating and cargo space. When four extra tonnes of equipment were added just days before departure, we recalculated the load, arranged a separate scheduled service for the one pallet that would not fit, and upgraded every passenger to business-class catering along the way.
Getting a French football team to their next game
A French side needed to reach their next fixture from an airport with a runway too short for most airliners. We drew on our local operator relationships and sourced a Dornier 328 – one of the world's smallest airliners – that could carry all 32 players and coaches and still operate from the strip, with the necessary permits arranged within a day of the call coming in.
Flying a family to a WWE match in Las Vegas
Not every sporting trip is about the athletes. We flew a Toronto-based family to Las Vegas to watch one of John Cena's final matches before his retirement, arranging a private charter so they could be there for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
Getting a football team to a tournament qualifier at short notice
With just 24 hours until kick-off and a limited budget, a travel agent asked us to get 40 players, coaches and medical staff from Ireland to Estonia and back for a major tournament qualifier. We sourced a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200, secured the limited runway slots at Dublin through our aviation-authority contacts and added complimentary catering – then sent a team member along to see the group off.
Flying Dakar Rally champions home
We flew the Toyota Gazoo Racing Dakar Team out to Saudi Arabia for the Dakar Rally and, by the time we brought all 96 of them home to Johannesburg in January, they were champions. A charter fit for winners, the Airbus A320neo came with a dedicated cabin crew and full in-flight catering, with our brokers on hand for support 24/7.
Helping retired NHL players visit a remote community school
Five retired NHL players wanted to fly from Winnipeg to a remote community school in Pickle Lake, Ontario, to share their stories and play hockey with the pupils. We found a Pilatus PC-12 that could land at the smaller airport and carry all their kit, then, when three more players arrived at the gate hoping to join, we used our airline relationship to add seats on the spot.
Flying 37 huskies to a sled race in Alaska
Our cargo experts flew three teams of huskies (37 dogs in all) from Oslo to Anchorage for a long-distance sled race, accompanied by two handlers and nine cases of equipment. We sourced a Boeing 757-200F freighter for the non-stop run, handled every customs and health document, and gave the dogs space to exercise before loading them into individual kennels spread across pallets for maximum airflow.
Ready when you are
Wherever your team, athletes or equipment need to be – and whatever the deadline – our experts can build a charter around your schedule.
